As soon as we think we 'KNOW' what our child thinks or feels  we adjust our response to suit our assumptions.

Are you  operating out of counterwill?

Understanding counterwill in yourself and your child is key.

Discard Parental guilt!

Poorly individuated adults can not foster individuation in children.

Often we overreact  to our  child's behaviour because we  are embarrassed.

Do a  'Self Check'  before taking on difficult parenting tasks.

Watch your tone of VOICE!

Often it's not the fact that parents say NO that causes a negative reaction in the child.

It's the frusteration and irritation in the parent's voice that the child reacts to.

Take Responsibility for the emotional climate in your home!

Say NO  to extra activities.

Many children today are attention starved. They need more time with mom and dad not more extracurricular activities.

Parents  need to seek healing for problems in their own lives.

None of us are Perfect Parents

Have an attitude of compassionate curiosity towards yourself as you work out issues in your own life, so you can be the best parent you can be!

If... part of the  PROBLEM of ADHD/ADD comes from the environment in which the child lives, then THERE IS HOPE that making changes in the ENVIRONMENT will LESSEN THE EFFECTS OF ADHD on the Child!
